Album Cover Analysis
This is Brandon Flowers' album cover for album, Flamingo. Firstly this depicts very well the genre of music that is to be included in the album, as the colour palette, atmosphere and general look of the cover conveys indie/rock. I think the colour scheme is very interesting as it is clear that they have emphasised on the golden, burnt orange tones on the interior to give a glamourous suave look, however the focal point of the cover is outside of the window which is a realistic colour palette. I think whats interesting about this cover aswell is that although the artist is used in the photo, he is not the central focus, which allows fans to recognise the star but realise that his image is not the important part of the album - his music is. I think this is something we may be able to take influence from as the furnishings have a period style to them, which is what ours would have to include if we chose this kind of mise-en-scene. I also really like the fact that the text used isn't 'in-your-face' and is just subtley added.
