Costumes

Overall we decided that the costumes we used for our draft were not right and didn't fit with our 1940's look. We had a discussion to go shopping to leicester on monday after the school day had finished to purchase all clothes and props that we could find that would fit perfectly with the style we want to portray. But due to the cost i came up with an idea of asking the drama department if they had any suitable costumes that we could borrow. Luckily they did and we had a good rummage and found lots of excellent costumes that fit our music video perfectly.

  1. Girls.

From speaking with Steff it seems you've had a crisis of confidence (or at least poor old Steff has). Hopefully Steff wont read or look at this blog until at least Sunday as she deserves a break. So Hannah and Emily read on...

Here are just my thoughts, Mrs Somel and I are marking everyones work next week so you'll get far more comprehensive guidance then. Remember it's just guidance and you are free to ignore us.

Right then. Number 1, tell Steff it's not rubbish.

Look at your video and then watch Gentleman Of The Road

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WqReo73MH9c

The first minute has the same feel as your forest scene. The only difference is the speed, they've used slow mo (you'll be able to do this once you get iLife). Look at my comments about the speed of your forest sequence. You just need to slow it down and keep that dream like feel without wallowing in it. Also look at the ECU of the walking and the speed in the clip. Less is often more!

Point 2. The second minute of Gentlemen of the road has the energy and force which makes Mumford And Sons so popular, when you shoot Jack, try and capture this energy and passion (this will require lots of different shots).

    Point 3. Winter Winds

has the same feel and energy. Look at the use of close ups to capture performance, could this be something you do with jack? Jack can make or break this video (no pressure Jack), get his performance correct and everything clicks. Lets see him sing more (and I mean sing, belt the tune right out there Jack we won't hear your voice in the final video) and play guitar. There are plenty of live versions of the song which show closeups of them playing the guitar, Jack can copy this.

Point 4. The narrative. You ALL need to think about how you make it clearer.

I hope the above is clear and helpful. Don't panic, keep calm and carry on.
